Pupils must respect and abide by the regulations that the Board and Principal see fit to enforce for the smooth running of the school community.
General ConductStudents should show courtesy, common-sense, respect and consideration for others in their general behaviour.
Care of PropertyStudents are expected to take a pride in their school and to care for its property. Accidental damage will be repaired by the College; the cost of willful damage must be met by the parents. All property that the girls own should be clearly marked with the owner's name. Money or valuables should be handed into the College office for safe keeping. As the school cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage, parents are advised to insure student's property against such loss. Each student has a locker and should purchase a good combination lock and ensure that the locker is kept locked when not in use.
Permission to Leave the College GroundsStudents may not leave the College without permission. For dental or medical appointments, which unavoidably may occur in school hours, an appointment card or a note from parents/ guardians must be brought and handed in at the office before 9am on the day of the appointment. The students sign out at the office and receive a pass-out when leaving for their appointment. They sign in again at the office on their return to College. We prefer appointments to be made outside of school hours if at all possible.
Smoking, Drugs and AlcoholAlcohol, smoking and the use of drugs or solvents are forbidden at all times and places while traveling to and from College, on the College grounds and at any function or activity organised by the college.
Hair and Make-upLong hair is to be tied back. No radical styles or colours will be permitted and the school reserves the right to make the judgment. Hair adornments must be black, white or burgundy only. Make-up and coloured nail polish are not to be worn at school. Please ensure your daughter removes all make-up before coming to school. Students may not wear toenail polish with sandals.
Neck OrnamentsGenuine Taonga is acceptable, for example a small cross, pounamu or bone bone carving. However, these should not be visible when worn with the uniform and should be worn under the shirt. This is not a carte blanche to wear any neck ornament and the school reserves the right to make the judgment.
JewelleryIf students have their ears pierced only one plain gold or silver stud in each ear may be worn. Students are not permitted to wear studs, rings etc on any other part of their body while in school uniform. No jewellery [other than a watch] is permitted while the student is wearing school uniform.
DetentionBreaches of school regulations may result in the student being required to attend a detention. A day's notice is given so that the students have the opportunity to inform parents. A Detention Slip is sent home on the preceding day and must be signed by the parent and returned on the day of the detention.
