• Congratulations to our talented netballers from the Senior A and 10 A teams who won their finals of the Hutt Valley Secondary Schools Netball  competition. The Senior A team won the Premier 1 title by defeating Hutt Valley High School 40-34, and the 10 A team defeated St Oran's College 34-22 to win the Premier 2 title.


     
  • Another winning finals title has gone to our Premier 1 Badminton team who won the Wellington Regional Badminton Competition by beating Wellington East Girl's College 6-1. Well done girls.
     
  • Congratulations to our  Sacred Heart College Junior A Netball Team who won the College Sport Junior A Netball Tournament  played at Taita with a win over Paraparaumu College in the final, 23 -11. The competition attracted 24 schools from around the Wellington region and Hutt schools took three out of the top four places. The win followed the team's success at the Junior Western Development Tournament held in New Plymouth where they also lifted the tournament final title from rivals Sacred Heart College New Plymouth. Three of the squad, Sarah Fabish, Danii Va'a and Courteney Brown were named in the tournament team.
     
  • Well done to Gabriel Murphy from Year 13 Accounting, whose creative and innovative essay won her a place on the Air New Zealand "CEO for the Day" competition. Gabriel was one of 16 students selected nationwide who flew to Auckland and spent the day with Rob Fyfe, CEO  Air NZ and lunched with All Blacks, Richie McCaw and Richard Kahui.

                                              
  • Talented Year 11 ballet dancer Paige Shand has won a senior ballet scholarship worth $1000 from the Hutt Valley Performing Arts Competition Society, and the Jenness Cup for the most outstanding dancer of the ballet festival. Paige, who has been dancing since the age of 4, now dances 6 or 7 times a week with the Chilton Dance Centre and is a junior associate, majoring in contemporary with the NZ School of Dance. Grace Cabauatan, another of our promising dancers, was runner-up in the scholarship competition. Well done girls.
     
  • Congratulations to Year 11 netballer Aleisha Moen who was a member of the winning Hutt Valley Under-17 representative netball team at the 2010 North Island Under 17 Age Group Championships in Whanagnui. Aleisha was also named shooter of the tournament.
     
  •  Congratulations to our emblazoNZ Team who have won a $5000 advertising campaign with The Edge radio station for their entry in this years Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme (YES). Under this scheme secondary school students form a company, become directors and develop a product which they market and sell. The team of Alicia, Wendy, Caitlin, Claire, Camille and Kate have produced a mood necklace called Manawa ora (Maori for hope) to help raise awareness for youth depression. Their advertising blurb will be recorded and aired on The Edge over the coming months. The team will also participate in the regional finals for their oral presentation. Well done team emblazoNZ !  
     
  • Weeks and weeks of hard work paid off for our Stage Challenge  Team after being placed first in the Friday competition of the Wellington Regional Stage Challenge. Well done to the team of 114 girls and 3 staff members who put so much time and effort into the event.
     
  • Our successful Civil Defence Team once again took top honours in the Secondary School Civil Defence competition. Even though they were placed first equal with St Patricks College, Silverstream, our girls get their name on the cup for yet another year - 5 years in a row! Well done girls.   
     
  • Our Senior Premier A Debating Team performed exceptionally well at the Russell McVeagh Wellington Regional Debating Championships recently. The team of Natasha, Lorietta, and Laura (Year 13), coached by Ms Brooking, were judged runners- up in the final debate against Scots College.  Congratulations to Laura who was chosen to represent Wellington Region at the National Schools Debating Champs, and was also named best speaker of the tournament. Well done girls.
     
  • Well done to talented  ballet dancer Grace (Year 12) who has won 10 free classes at Sydney's Urban Dance Centre, after winning the runner-up Director's Award at the recent Phoenix International Dance Workshop in Palmerston North.  Although Grace has studied ballet since the age of four, her natural ability to perform a hip-hop number in front of the judges helped her win  the trip to Sydney.
       
  •  Congratulations to skaters Kyra (Year 9) and Linda (Year 12) who performed well at the New Zealand National Rollersports Championships. Kyra won gold and a national title, while Linda won silver  and was a member of the precision skating team, Kapital Kidz, which won gold and a national title.
