Kapa Haka

Nau mai, haere mai. Ko te kaupapa o tenei korero, he tino tumeke te roopu Kapa Haka o te Ngakau Tapu o Hehu.

The Sacred Heart Kapa Haka group plays an important role in College life, sharing Maori culture and leading the Powhiri on special occasions. The group performs a variety of items including poi, waiata-a-ringa and haka.

The Kapa Haka encourages Maori student participation and also welcomes students of other ethnic backgrounds. Kapa Haka fosters a whanau concept to care and support each other, to help develop confidence and self esteem within the students through song and dance.
