Student Council

The Student Council is made up of pupil representatives from each level. They organise fundraisers, mufti days, Year Nine and Ten dances, and deal with any student issues. They meet fortnightly on Friday mornings before school starts.

Membership
Membership of the Student Council is decided by annual student elections and is composed of:

  • Head Girl
  • Deputy Head Girl
  • 6 House Captains
  • Two Year 9 representatives 
  • Two Year 10 representatives 
  • Three Year 11 representatives 
  • Four Year 12 representatives 
  • Two Year 13 representatives

Qualities needed for Student Council Members:

  1. Listen to others and be able to present their ideas
  2. Have good ideas themselves
  3. Be motivated to give service to the school
  4. Feel able to report back to their year group at assemblies

Main Functions of the Student Council:

  1. To provide a forum for student issues
  2. To provide opportunities for students to initiate and accept responsibility for student led activities
  3. To promote communication between the Year levels
  4. To raise funds for projects and charities
