Fees:

Private music lessons are $35 per half hour lesson, multiplied by the number of weeks in a term. A ten-week term will cost $350 for private music lessons. A contract is signed between the student's family and the private music teacher, with payment being made directly to the private music teacher by the beginning of each term.

Terms:

1. Students learning an instrument are required to either own their own instrument, or hire one from SHC or an external provider, eg. KBB Music. (More information about hiring is provided under Musical Instrument Hire).  
2. Students must bring their instrument to school for their music lesson each week and take their instrument back home to practice on during the week. 
3. Students learning Bass Guitar, Drums, Guitar or Piano, may use the school instruments for their music lessons, at no charge.  However, they will be required to have their own instrument at home to practice on during the week.
4. There may be a waiting list to learn some instruments. Students taking Music as a subject option in years 10-13 are given priority.  
5. Students who are enrolled in private music lessons are encouraged to be part of a music group at school.  Groups include: String Orchestra, Jazz Combo, Sonore Choir, Liturgy Band, Jazz/Funk Band, Concert Band, Rock Band and Barbershop Chorus and Quartets.
6. Students are encouraged to perform in music concerts during the year.
7. Payment is required in full at the beginning of each term. 

Please only enrol for music lessons if you are committed to attending the lessons and practicing regularly in your own time.
