Water Polo is strong at Sacred Heart, our Senior Team won the CSW Premier Division in 2022 and won bronze at the NISS Champs. SHC have a strong Junior Team and won the CSW Division 1 Junior Competition in 2020, 2021 and 2022. 

The Senior competition is open for Seniors and experienced Junior players. The Junior competition in Term 4 is ideal for all Junior players including those new to the sport, no experience is necessary. Juniors need to register for Term 4 later in the year.

This registration is for Term 1

This year we are aiming to have two Senior Teams and invite all players (Snr & Jnr) to attend trials. Trials will be held on the following dates;

• Trial #1 Saturday 14th January 2023 6pm-8pm @ Huia Pool
• Trial #2 Saturday 21st January 2023 6pm-8pm @ Huia Pool

Summer Season Swim Training*

There will be summer season training for all students intending to play water polo in 2023. Players are encouraged to attend Summer Season swim training. Summer Season swim training will be  on Tuesday nights @ McKenzie Baths, on the following dates/times;

• Tuesday 20th December 2022 6pm-7pm
• Tuesday 10th January 2023 7pm-8pm
• Tuesday 17th January 2023 7pm-8pm
• Tuesday 24th January 2023 7pm-8pm
• Tuesday 31st January 2023 6pm-7pm
• Tuesday 7th February 2023 6pm-7pm

NOTE: There will also be an additional charge for pool hire for trainings, which depends on pool availability and number of trainings, and we expect it to be about $25, but this will be confirmed once the pool times are booked.

• Game Day: Thursdays starting 16 February 2023
• Times: 7.00pm - 10.00pm
• Venue(s): Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre, Kilbirnie & Huia Pool, Lower Hutt
• Uniform: Headgear provided. Students need to buy SHC Togs. Togs cost $95 and are available from the Sports Office.
• Ability: Experienced players for Term 1
• Fee: $100
• Closing Date: 2 February 2023 (for registration and payment)

 Commitment and Communication

• When you join a sports team, you must be fully committed to the team and attend all trainings and games. You are expected to tell your coach/manager if you are unable to attend a session.
