About CROSS COUNTRY EVENTS 2025

Cross Country: This is to register your interest for Cross Country events. Entry information about regional and national events will be sent to you once you register your interest.
College Sport Wellington offer 2 Cross Country Events, The Individual Champs and the Team Relays. In addition, the school encourages teams to attend NZ Secondary School Events. Students are responsible for their own training programme, but a school running group may be organised if there is enough interest. Parents are required to be actively involved if they wish students to attend events outside the Wellington region, however, the school will transport students to College Sport Wellington events.
Competitions in Term 2
- Event 1: CSW Cross Country Champs (Harcourt Park, Upper Hutt) Tuesday 27 May
- Event 2: CSW Cross Country Relays (Wakefield Park) 14 May
- Uniform: Athletics singlet and tracksuit jacket provided for the events: own black running shorts and running shoes. Students are encouraged to purchase a grey long sleeve warm up top from the NZ Unifrom Shop.
- Ability: Keen runners, who are happy to do some personal training.
- Fee: Payment to be made at time of entry
- Closing Date: 31 January 2025 (for expression of interest)
North Island and National Events
Talented athletes may want to attend the following events. For these events parents/caregivers are required to take students to the event independently, and must arrange their own transport and accommodation. These events are charged separately.
- NZSS Cross Country Champs 14 - 15 June, Barge Park, Whangarei.
NOTE: Appropriate school behaviour and attendance standards are a requirement for a student to participate in extra-curricular activities.

Please pay the above fee online, you must make a separate payment for each sport.

Commitment and Communication
When you join a sports team, you must be fully committed to the team and attend all trainings and games. You are expected to tell your coach/manager if you are unable to attend a session.
