Hockey: Hockey is played in Terms 2 and 3. we have 2 teams catering for all abilities from beginner to advanced.
Sacred Heart hockey had a very successful 2024 season with the 1st XI winning their P3 grade, winning the Eveline Hankers Memorial trophy at Winter Tournament and taking out of the team of the year at the SHC sports awards.
The 1st XI will attend Winter Tournament week during the first week of September, the Mission Cup / Te Toa Tournament over the King's birthday weekend and the St Mary's Sports Exchange on 18th June. We are actively seeking more novice players to grow our Hockey programme and are running a combined programme with Chilton St James.
- Game Days: 1st XI - P2 playing on Fridays starting 9 May 2025 (we are waiting on confirmation this will be the grade we are playing in)
- Game Days: 2nd XI - P3 playing on Thursdays starting 8 May 2025 (we are waiting on confirmation this will be the grade we are playing in)
- Training Times: Mondays at Chilton St James turf (between 5 - 7pm; times TBC)
- Game Venue(s): Fraser Park, Maidstone, Elsdon or National Hockey Stadium in Newtown
- Uniform: SHC issued hockey dress, players provide own red socks, shin pads, boots and mouth guards
- Equipment: Players to provide own hockey sticks
- Ability: Novice to experienced players
- Fee: $180
- 1st Team Levy: $45 (Applies to players selected for the First XI Team only)
- Closing Date: 31 January 2025 (for registration and payment)

Commitment and Communication
When you join a sports team, you must be fully committed to the team and attend all trainings and games. You are expected to tell your coach/manager if you are unable to attend a session.
