This is to register your interest only, so that we can keep you informed. We do not run an orienteering team, but are able to provide you with the necessary information if you would like to participate. 

No experience is required, help is provided at the event. Novice courses are 2km long and students run or walk to find checkpoints listed on the map. Courses take from 45mins to 1 and a half hours to complete. Orienteering is a thinking sport!

• Season: Term 1, starting 12 February 2025
• Game Day: Sundays. Students don't have to participate every week, it's optional how many times you enter and is done weekly online
• Times: 11am - 1pm
• Equipment: None
• Uniform: PE gear and running shoes. Seniors can borrow PE tops from the sports office.
• Ability: All abilities, no experience necessary. Novice to advanced.
• Fee: Entry fees paid per event online every week (approximately $6 - $8 per event)
• Closing Date: 31 January 2025 (for registration of interest)

Weekly entries are done through the Hutt Valley Orienteering Club. Instructions will be provided.

NOTE: Appropriate school behaviour and attendance standards are a requirement for a student to participate in extra-curricular activities.
