Red Light Setting Update

As Covid-19 cases within the Wellington region begin to increase, some of our local schools are starting to experience the direct impacts of Covid.

At Sacred Heart College we are doing our best to protect the health and wellbeing of our students, staff and community:

• All staff and students are wearing masks.
• Visitors to school are kept to only essential people. Meetings involving outside people will be conducted via Zoom.
• Extra cleaning is being done during the day and after school.
• Students and staff are using hand sanitiser and practising distancing when practicable.
• Classrooms are kept well ventilated.
• We are asking for all students and staff who are sick to stay at home.
• We have clear guidelines in place for managing cases and close contacts should we be impacted.
• We are well prepared for distance learning.

IF a Covid-19 positive case is identified within our school community:

• Sacred Heart College will be contacted by the Ministry.  However please do contact us if you have a positive case within your family to speed up the process.
• We have clear guidelines to identify close contacts of positive cases.
• If your child is identified as a Close Contact we will advise you as soon as we can and provide clear details on what to do.
• Close contacts will be required to follow public health guidelines.   
• You will be contacted to let you know when your child can return to school.
• It may be necessary to move to distance learning while we work through this process.
• We will update the Sacred Heart College community.

As a school, we will do what we can to ensure a positive education programme is in place for any eventuality and will be here to support our school community as best we can.
