SHC Guide to Remote Learning

Kia ora students

The current situation is surreal and hard for us all to fully understand. I appreciate that this sudden and significant change to your lives will be different, and at times, difficult. Please be assured that our staff will continue to work hard to ensure your learning continues, and that is important.

But the most important thing at the moment, is that you are okay.  Take the time over the next few weeks to take some time for yourself.

If possible:

  • Maintain a routine
  • Keep exercise up (perhaps have a boogie around the kitchen – music will be important)
  • Try reading
  • Do something that brings you joy
  • Go for a walk, run or bike ride (just keep a 2-metre distance from people)
  • Journal and process your feelings
  • Stay connected (make a phone call, write a letter, video chat) - I know you will do this!!

Here is a link to a PowerPoint that will help you in the coming days to set yourself up for online learning. Please note that the video will only play using your school email address. You can slow it down using the settings wheel at the bottom of the video- playback speed. Click here for the link.

Remote Learning will start on Wednesday 15 April 2020. Your teachers will have sent you some work for this week as well. Please check your teams and email.

I will miss seeing you all and look forward to having you back at Sacred Heart College.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart. Proverbs 3:5.
