SINGout4JUSTICE Win

We are very proud to announce the Sacred Heart College 2020 winner and runners up of the 2020 Caritas SINGout4JUSTICE song writing/ recording competition.

The theme this year was LIGHT and focused on how "we are called to be LIGHT in our world.  At times the darkness can see to be everywhere, but God can bring justice, truth, hope, love and peace through us, even in the darkest situations".

The winner is Shanille Lat from Year 13 Music with her song 'The Journey to Faith'.

From the five runners up this year, four are from Sacred Heart College:

Christine Kiernan, Ngarangi Sadlier-Patmore, and Sabrina Louis of Year 13 Music with their song 'Needing Light'

Shanille Lat and Ngarangi Sadlier-Patmore (2019 runners up and 2018 winners) with their song 'Guide us Home'

Raashna Chand and Sian Pegler of Year 12 Music with their song 'Reignite'

Jessica Lawrence, Terina Sadlier-Patmore, and Nina Owles of Year 12 Music with their song 'Your Love'.

Shanille receives money for herself, and some money to give to a charity of her choice.  She has selected Caritas charities 'Nurture a New Mother and Child', and 'A Safe Place to Call Home'.

This makes competition history as no one has ever won twice.  We are so proud of you Shanille.  It is also the third year in a row that it has been won by the same school.  Other than SHC, no other school has won more than once. Congratulations to these girls, to all our students who took part, and to our Performing Arts department for nurturing the depth of musical talent we have at SHC.

The winning song can be heard on the SINGout4JUSTICE song writing competition website.
