Feast Day of the Sacred Heart

On Friday 12 June, we celebrated the Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with Mass, shared food, and a concert.

In 1856 a feast in honour of the Sacred Heart was set by the Pope.  That is what we celebrate on our Feast Day.

Devotion to the Sacred Heart focuses not only on the love and mercy Jesus has for us but on making right our wrongs – the time to forgive and the time to say, I’m sorry.  Students write their prayers on heart shaped paper which are then blessed at Mass.

Each Ako class shares a 'feast' with a theme and then the whole school celebrates with a concert in the afternoon.
