School Board Announcement of Principal Appointment
School Board announcement - appointment of principal
Kia ora koutou,
As you are aware, over the past few months the School Board has been engaged in a robust and careful process, working towards appointment of our new Principal following Maria Potter's departure at the end of this school term.
This has seen us engage in consultation with our school staff, students and wider community concerning the qualities we would all like to see reflected in the new appointment.
We have also undertaken a thorough and well-informed recruitment process, and have been careful to seek out the most highly skilled and experienced applicants who are able to continue to foster and grow our tradition of strong Catholic values, excellence in student education and personal development, and the building of a flourishing school community based on sisterhood and the sharing and outworking of Christ's love for all.
Following the completion of this process over the past several days, we are now very pleased to announce that Katrina Kerr-Bell will be joining us as our new school Principal during Term 2. We are currently working through a transition plan that will take us through from Maria's departure until the date of Katrina’s arrival.
Katrina joins us from St Catherine's College in Wellington, where she has held the role of Principal for three years. Prior to joining St Catherine’s College, Katrina was an assistant principal for nine years at Kavanagh College (now Trinity Catholic College) in Dunedin. Katrina has a strong passion for Catholic education, service and stewardship, lifting educational standards and the positive integration of community and school life.
We welcome Katrina to Sacred Heart College.
Ngā mihi
