On the last day of Term 2, twelve hundred spectators packed out the Walter Nash Stadium for the third annual Hutt Fest event where secondary school students from seven colleges showcased their cultural talent.
Hutt Fest was the final night of the 2017 Hutt Valley Polyfest where 43 primary and 7 early childhood centres also took the stage throughout the week. It has become an annual highlight which all students in the Hutt Valley look forward to taking part in and an opportunity for the Hutt Valley community to come together and celebrate as one.
Our Combined Kapahaka group Te Huatai Katorika made up of students from Sacred Heart College, St. Bernard’s College and St. Patrick’s College Silverstream opened the night with a powerful performance of songs and dances from their competition bracket. Our Poly group made up of 67 students closed the night with an emotional performance dedicating their final song to fellow ex-student who tragically passed away a week earlier.
A big thank you to all the teachers, tutors, Y13 leaders and students for dedicating so much time and effort in preparing for this event, as well as all the families, friends and staff for their support.
The School office is closed - re-opening on Tuesday 23 January 2018.
May peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through.
